Where we live

We are residents in the small village of Boavista, meaning: "goodview". It is a part of Vale da Campeã, a valley that was once a huge lake thousands of years ago. Surrounded on one side by the second highest natural elevation in continental Portugal: Serra do Marão and on the other by Serra do Alvão that is a protected natural park.

We are 45 minutes away from Porto (85 km) and 15 min away from Vila Real (12 km). We are also close to the historical city of Amarante just 31 km away and the capital of wine production Régua just 34 km away.

We are proudly part of Trás-dos-Montes, that translated would be: "behind the mountains". A region of  breathtaking landscapes, where agriculture and cattle production have been the main activities for many years. The country´s best wine producing area, that is also home for the exclusive Port wine. A place to delight yourself with the intense and exciting cuisine, where you can taste great wines and share moments with caring local people. The strong cultural heritage, the genuine hospitality and the connection with Mothernature are good enough reasons to come for a visit.
